Looking ahead after European Hydrogen Week 2025
Looking ahead after European Hydrogen Week 2025

Zaffra was delighted to support and take part in European Hydrogen Week 2025 (29.09-02.10), where over 1,200 voices from across the hydrogen value chain came together to tackle the urgent questions of Europe’s energy transition.
One highlight for us was connecting with our partner Moeve as we assess opportunities in Southern Spain to develop eSAF production capacities of more than 100 kt/year – a step that can contribute significantly to Europe’s decarbonisation and competitiveness.

Our CEO, Jan Toschka, joined a panel to highlight that eSAF is not just about reducing emissions – it is also about strengthening Europe’s energy sovereignty and resilience. This theme resonated across the conference: hydrogen and its derivatives are essential to securing competitiveness and reducing dependence on energy imports.
The industry is aware of the challenges ahead, with projects not unfolding as quickly as hoped. But in the words of Jean Monnet, one of Europe’s founding fathers: “I am not an optimist, I am determined.” That determination was palpable in Brussels.
A big thank you to the Hydrogen Europe team for organising, the speakers, and everyone who joined us – Zaffra is proud to be part of this European journey towards clean, sovereign, and resilient aviation fuels.
