Topsoe: Chief Commercial Officer
Elena Scaltritti
Elena joined Topsoe as Chief Commercial Officer in 2022. She brings unique insights to the company's global commercial offerings, focusing on emerging trends and technologies. She is a leading industry voice on decarbonization of energy-intensive industries and long-distance transportation with a special focus on sustainable aviation fuels. Prior to joining Topsoe, Elena served as EVP at SONGWON Industrial Group and has held leadership roles at BASF, Ciba Specialty Chemicals and Nalco Holding Company. She earned a B.S. in organic chemistry and an M.B.A. from the University of Milan and the POLIMI School of Management.

Roeland Baan
Roeland joined Topsoe as President and CEO in 2020. He brings over 40 years of global industry experience, successfully developing businesses, driving growth and building cohesive organizations. Roeland's extensive career includes leadership positions at Outokumpu, Aleris International, Arcelor Mittal, SHV NV and Shell. He chairs SBM Offshore NV, is Vice Chairman of the International Stainless-Steel Forum and member of the Hydrogen Council Board. He holds an MSc in Economics from Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam.

Simon Baloyi
Simon joined Sasol in 2002 and is responsible for Sasol’s entire Energy Operations portfolio which comprises all downstream operations and related infrastructure as well as Technology, Projects and Engineering, and Procurement. Simon was appointed to the Group Executive Committee on 1 April 2022 and will become the President and Chief Executive Officer for Sasol on 1 April 2024.

Fleetwood Grobler
Fleetwood was appointed President and Chief Executive Officer of Sasol Limited on 1 November 2019. Prior to his appointment, he was Executive Vice President of Sasol’s Chemicals Business, based in Germany. His association with Sasol began as an engineering student in the early 1980s when he received a Sasol bursary before joining the Group in 1984. Since then, he has worked at most of Sasol’s operating facilities worldwide. In this time, he has been exposed to a broad range of business activities and has extensive experience in Sasol’s international businesses. He has been a member of the Sasol Group Executive Committee since 1 December 2013. He holds a BEng (Mech), Advanced Executive Programme.

Thijs joined Shell in 1991 and has worked in a range of upstream and corporate roles in Europe, Africa and the Middle East. He is currently located in the Netherlands, assigned to the NAM. Thijs holds a PhD in physics from the University of Leiden.

Eric graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of the Witwatersrand in South Africa, later obtaining his MBA from Henley Business Management College in the UK. Eric has spent 33 years working in the Petrochemical Engineering Industry. His work experience covers operations, process engineering design, project execution and for most of the past 16 years, technology management and technology licensing.

Jan has led teams across sales, mergers and acquisitions, trading, and retail businesses globally, spanning various sectors including marine and retail.

Steve Westwell
Steve brings over 40 years of global energy industry experience, including operational positions with Eskom & senior leadership positions with BP, Silver Ridge Power and EFR. Steve’s previous independent director positions include Sasol and Control Risks. He is currently an independent director of Brookfield Renewable Corporation. He holds a BSc in Engineering from the University of Natal, an MBA from the University of Cape Town and an MSc in Management from Stanford University.
